What’s New Too?
Buffalo Dreams tells the tale of two adversarial teenage boys - a rebellious Native American who eschews the traditions of his tribe, and a newly transplanted Chicagoan who savors extreme mountain biking - who must get past their differences to forge a friendship and preserve the region's Navajo traditions.
Although Thomas Blackhorse doesn't fully understand the significance of carrying on the Navajo teachings, he does resent "tourists" who don't appreciate the local way of life. After accepting Josh Townsend into his circle of friends, Thomas is equally hurt and angry when Josh betrays a confidence and reveals the location of a sacred Navajo landmark to vandals.
To save his friendship with Thomas and preserve the local customs, Josh challenges the leader of the ruffians to a grueling, dangerous mountain bike race. Josh and Thomas work together to defend the Native American legacy with a spectacular showdown set against the backdrop of the Wild West and involving the revered buffalo herd in the region. Synopsis © Disney
Filming on the movie took place in August 2004 in the Salt Lake City, Utah area, including Antelope Island, Skull Valley, the Uintah Mountains, and a local ski resort.
